"Another face of olive oil"
  
 Today the properties of olive oil for health are well known, what is perhaps not known is that its therapeutic benefits elevated it to the category of myth in the past, and it was used by the Church and healers as a healing remedy.
 This book reviews the history of this facet of olive oil: the healing formulas of ancient times, numerous medical and pharmaceutical treatises (with remedies that have been used until almost our days), its fundamental role in the Mediterranean diet and the recognition of gastronomy professionals, who have made it the protagonist of our cuisine.
 Its presence in current cosmetics is also discussed, which does nothing but recover the use made of it by Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and, more recently, by our mothers and grandmothers.
 Anecdotes, proverbs, classic and contemporary texts, accompanied by a large number of illustrations that graphically reflect what is written.
